What Is Coming Next
And of course Black Friday deals
No new content this week, sorry… The Fall GGC closed and I’m stuck in Excel for awhile. But I wanted to provide an update on the Pipeline and some things happening behind the scenes.
Before we move forward, I’ve been updating my Black Friday Deals page and have a lot of good stuff there. If you plan to buy this holiday season, even if you buy off Amazon, you can support what I do with using my various links and codes. These things give me a small kick back, or sometimes just let a company know I sent ya. Both help me get more equipment to review, to produce cool videos and articles, and more. So I appreciate your support.
Review Pipeline Updates
I’ve been getting frequent updates from the team at MAIAK-GO, and unfortunately they got a little delayed due to some weather issues. Interesting update from them, is that they decided to skip the Kickstarter platform and just go full steam ahead. So I think we are closer to a launch than we originally thought. I’ve let them know that I have a pretty flexible timeline to include them into because I have received dozens of requests for a review on this. So right now, we are waiting tight. But the plan is to do a First Look video as soon as I get it, and then follow up with a review somewhere in the middle of 2025.
I’ve had a bunch of people ask for me to review the upcoming Unitree MAX and compare to the FLEX, VOLTRAs, etc. So far the team has not shown any interest. In fact, they sent their pre-release beta versions to a bunch of random “athletes” instead of reviewers. I think this was likely on purpose, as a reviewer often has a different eye. Maybe they aren’t confident in their product? Not sure. I’ll keep poking them once they get to the release date to see what happens.
I mentioned in my last newsletter that I was delaying my Freak Athlete Hyper Pro review because of some inside information. They released SOME of that info the other day on IG. They are working on a cable integration solution for the Hyper Pro, so you can have cable stacks run your Leg Developer. I actually just got the prototype this week, and I’ll be tinkering with it. I can tell you that they have a couple more REALLY cool things in the works with the Hyper Pro. So stay tuned. That review has been moved to end of January.
I just got in the brand new MAG Palm Grip, which isn’t even available yet. I believe I have number 2. They asked for a product video and some pictures, which I put together. Depending on the GGC wrap-up and MAIAK-GO plans, I might go ahead and do a full intro video on the new grip for YouTube.
I’m working on reviewing 4 or 5 new recovery items. A new massage gun with heated and cold therapy applications, the Fit King Leg Compression System, the Chirp Halo and RPM, several foam rollers, and based on some requests, I might just have a Red Light Therapy set coming my way (this is currently TBD). My stance on recovery can MOSTLY be captured by this clip from Ben Pakulski.
Basically, we need good GPP, nutrition, and sleep. Everything else is the last few percentage points. So I’ll make sure to share this when I dig in to these devices, as I plan to have a full length video discussing this topic in early January.
I just wrapped up my 90 day experiment with T-Sterone by True Nutrition, and got my comprehensive blood work back. I’m going to take a few weeks to see what happens after a month off, and then share my thoughts alongside some detailed objective blood work results. Look for that in the middle of December.
I’ve been told by the team that I should get my NordBench here in a couple weeks. Goal is to line that up against the Hyper Pro and have a review in early February.
After the Nord Bench review, my entire world turns to one thing. Cable Attachments! I’m going to start off with the Iron Neck review after 6 months of use, then dive into five different videos on cable attachments and wrap it up with the BEST carabiners for your home gym. The first video will be around what I think are the FIRST 5 cable attachments you should buy, then we’ll dig into the best of the best for each muscle group - Chest and Shoulders, Back, Arms, and Legs. For the carabiners, I had a buddy of mine, Sanjiv Gupta, test out my two favorite carabiners with his various grip implements. An issue he regularly had problems with, and both passed with flying colors. So I think we are onto something.
We’ll hit the Spring GGC shortly after that, take a small break, and then dive into a few fun ones. I’m going to cover the differences between a Squat Bar, Deadlift Bar, and Power Bar, and discuss who might need them, and who definitely doesn’t. I’ve got a handful of different topic videos lined up for that June - September window, including Organization, how to build a sustainable workout plan, and the big one… HomeGymCon Recap!
Yep, me and the family are headed to HomeGymCon in 2025. I’m excited to meet a lot of my “colleagues” in person, see some new equipment, and maybe meet a few of you. If you are planning to go, let me know. My plan is to ultimately ask all of you, on Reddit, etc. what you want to see. So I can snap pics and videos and share it all with you.
Changes To The Lab
I had a friend come out and look over my garage for the next big project. We are looking to insulate and install a Mini-Split for heating and cooling. I never planned to do this, but with me doing more videos, the 100 degree days are just brutal. I can’t sit in a hot garage with the door closed and sweat my face off on camera.
We finished up insulating the garage door last weekend. Next step is to call a company to get a quote for the ceiling and maybe the walls. Then have the Mini-Split installed.
I have a pitch into Get RxD to send me their new RX3 Tornado Pivot Arm system, if that happens, I’ll be reorganizing the majority of the garage to sell off the FT2, move the computer and cable attachments and more to make room. I’m likely going to redo my barbell storage at that point too, and maybe make a few more tweaks. We shall see!
I’ve been on the hunt for the “perfect” tripod since last year. My goal with my production is to find as many ways as I can to reduce my time spent doing dumb crap. So switching between multiple tripods because one goes low and the other is stable and tall is annoying. I snagged a discounted iFootageGear tripod and Fluid Video Head that are freaking SMOOTH and looking like they’ll be the one true tripod for me. I’m going to snag a couple accessories as well this Black Friday season, and if I sell all my Marketplace items I’m getting myself a new slider… again, iFootage. Really, it is all about trying to make my life easier while producing cool stuff. Thanks for helping me do that btw.
Upcoming AMAs
I’m already booking for 2025, which seems crazy but we are booked through JULY with confirmations already. And I’ve got plans for the rest of 2025 as well. Some friends like Garage Gym Lab, No Fate, and Gym Crafter will drop in. As well as some repeat companies like Darko, Freak Athlete, and likely Powertec. And some fresh faces like LPG Muscle, BodyKore, and X-Mark.
A lot has to be ironed out as we proceed into the year, but it is looking like it will be a fun AMA schedule.
Life Stuff
We just wrapped up our Soccer season, and I was able to coach for my 3rd year. One of the parents made this awesome poster and printed it for me and my other coach. Definitely getting framed and put on the wall.
Wowzers. For nothing new that was a long newsletter. Hopefully you found some of this informative, insightful, or just a little fun. The Review Pipeline will be wrapping up at the end of December… you can vote RIGHT HERE for what I add in 2025. Make sure to let your voice be heard, as I 100% use this for what I do next.
And if you have any ideas, requests, whatever. Someone you want to see do an AMA, or a product I should check out and review, or maybe you know camera stuff, whatever. Remember, just hit that replay button and we can chat. I love to do that btw.
Chat soon!
